The Importance Of Moving Your Body Daily

Moving our bodies daily is so important for our mental health, for healthy skin as well keeping our internal organs running smoothly. By getting ourselves moving more each day, we are helping our minds and bodies function at their best – here are some of the benefits:


Moving your body helps you get your heart rate elevated and gets your blood flowing. When we get our blood flowing, exercise will help our skin cells and keep them vital. Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to working cells throughout our body including our skin. We can also allow for more blood flow to the liver, you can think of it as cleansing your skin from the inside.


The lymphatic system is essential to our bodies’ ability to detoxify, nourish and regenerate our tissue, filter our waste and keep our immune system in check. The flow of lymph is reliant on the actions of our muscles and diaphragm to circulate it. Exercise can help that a long .


Movement and physical activity delivers oxygen and nutrients to our tissue and helps our cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And when our heart and lungs work more efficiently you will have more energy thought out your day.


Movement stimulates various chemicals in our brain that leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. For me I know a 15 min mid-day dance break really gets be back to focus during my work day – being clear and feeling less stressed is beneficial all around. Also many skin conditions can be exacerbated by stress, such as acne and eczema.


Your intestines are a muscle – they too need to stay toned and fit for them to function optimally. When we move regularly we assist the body to stimulate intestinal circulation which can encourage regularity. Peristalsis is a series of wave like muscle contractions that move your food and waste through your digestive tract – when we lose tone, our bowls become weak – aptly named lazy bowl. When we are keep regular and address and imbalances – move our bodies we then can rid ourselves of toxins (ama) more effectively and reduce ama from reabsorbing throughout our bodies.

Part of honouring God’s will is taking care of ourselves. If we are not well, how can we do the things that He needs us to do? Our bodies are wondrous “temples,” created by Him to sustain us through our Earthly lives. How are you treating your temple? Keeping our bodies nourished is incredibly important for maintaining good health.

Bodies that are well-nourished spiritually and physically are better equipped vehicles for doing God’s work.
