The Foundation For Contentment Is Faith & Joy

The foundation for contentment is faith and joy.
Faith- seeing things the way God says they are instead of how my eyes see them.
Joy- the resolute assurance that God knows and cares about the details of my life.
Contentment can not exist without this established foundation.
If my perspective of God is small and weak, or I see Him as distant and unwilling, I will never be able to submit my heart to the truth that God has done right.
Instead I will believe that in my own right, if given the chance, I could have done better. I will believe that the circumstances I have been given do not meet my expectations.
This will lead to a life of discontentment and living a life of sinful covetousness.
Instead, today I will stand on the truth that I am a woman of discipline and self control. I will deny my worldly lusts and live godly in the present time. I will look for the hope of God’s glorious appearing instead of the next and “better” season in my life. And I will place my trust in the grace that saves the lost, pardons the guilty, and sanctifies the unclean.
Titus 2:11-15
